The talk will start with a brief history of the Thanksgiving holiday (as essential background) and move on to the subject of religion in the present-day United States. The students will learn about WHY America has such an open policy when it comes to the "freedom of religion", how far that stretches, both legally and statistically, and some of the consequences of that philosophy (e.g. the Church of Satan, Scientology and even Pastafarianism).
