1nd LEVEL
Accepting the grade and educational effects for the foreign language in the first-level studies at B2.2 or C1.2 level
- Every student of Wrocław University of Science and Technology has the right to have his or her educational effects accepted at B2.2 or C1.2 level with no participation in classes on the basis of the following:
- A certificate which gives the student the right to enrol in a group at B2.2 or C1.2 level during the registration or the all-university adjustments. Having signed up to the right group, the student is obliged to present the certificate and its copy to the coordinator for certification within 10 days from the beginning of the semester.
- Scientific achievements accepted by the dean, namely a completed course at the required level and with the same educational effects, according to the Regulations Governing Higher Education Studies at Wrocław University of Science and Technology, article 11.2. In this case, the student is obliged to submit in the dean’s office the documents required by his or her faculty before the beginning of the semester in which the student wants his or her scientific achievements to be accepted.
- A student studying in English/German cannot apply for the acceptance of his or her educational effects on the basis of the fact that he or she is studying in a foreign language. According to the plan of studies, the student is obliged to complete one course at least at B.2.2 level, however, the suggested level is C1 (if the student chooses a course in the foreign language in which he or she is studying).
- Foreign students:
- are allowed to apply for the acceptance of their educational effects at B2.2 or C1.2 level only in a language which is a foreign language for them, then point I 1a or 1b should apply,
- can enrol, with the the permission from the deanof a given faculty permission, in the Polish as a foreign language classes at A1 and A2 levels in exchange for the obligatory foreign language course at B2.2 or C1.2,
- CANNOT apply for the acceptance of their educational effects in the language which is their mother tongue. According to the plan of studies, a student is obliged to enrol in a group studying a language which is his or her foreign language.
2nd LEVEL
Accepting the grade and educational effects for the foreign language in the second-level studies at B2+ or C1+ level.
- Every student of Wrocław University of Science and Technology has the right to have his or her educational effects accepted at B2+ or C1+ level with no participation in classes on the basis of the following:
- A certificate which gives the student the right to enrol in a group at B2+ or C1+ level during the registration or all-university adjustments. Having signed up to the right group, the student is obliged to present the certificate and its copy to the co-ordinator for certification within 10 days from the beginning of the semester. The list of certificates accepted by the Department of Foreign Languages (SJO) in the second-level studies is available on www.sjo.pwr.edu.pl,
- scientific achievements accepted by the dean, namely a completed course at the required level and with the same educational effects, according to the Regulations Governing Higher Education Studies at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, article 11.2. In this case, the student is obliged to submit in the dean’s office the documents required by his or her faculty before the beginning of the semester in which the student wants his or her scientific achievements to be accepted.
- A student studying in English/German cannot apply for the acceptance of his or her educational effects on the basis of the fact that he or she is studying in a foreign language. According to the plan of study, the student is obliged to complete one course at least at B2+ level, however, the suggested level is C1+ (if the student chooses a course in the foreign language in which he or she is studying).
- Foreign students are allowed to apply for the acceptance of their educational effects at B2+ or C1+ level only in a language which is a foreign language for them, and then point II 1a or 1b should apply.
Determining the accepted grade
- on the basis of a certificate - the grade depends on the scale of points and grades included on the list of the accepted certificates,
- on the basis of a course completed at the Department of Foreign Languages (SJO), Wrocław University of Science and Technology - the grade is the same if the following conditions are fulfilled: the same language, the same level of studies, the same language level, the completion of an obligatory course (a course taken in connection with extra ECTS points is not considered as a completed course),
- on the basis of a course completed at another university - the grade is the same under the following conditions: the same language, the same language level and the same educational effects.
