The Department of Foreign Languages (Studium Języków Obcych, SJO) at Wrocław University of Science and Technology, as an inter-faculty unit, is one of the largest academic centres for foreign language teaching in Poland.

The main task of the Department is to teach foreign languages to students and doctoral students of Wrocław University of Science and Technology. Currently, 7 foreign languages are taught: English, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Japanese and Polish for foreigners.

The Department of Foreign Languages offers obligatory classes, additional classes and additional specialist and thematic courses.

DFL employs highly qualified staff ensuring high quality of language teaching. Language classes are conducted at all levels, and they include the specialist language component. Teaching is done using modern methods and the latest didactic and multimedia means.

The Department of Foreign Languages is a member of the Association of Academic Foreign Languages Centres SERMO and a member of the European Confederation of Language Centres in Higher Education CercleS.
