Rules of issuing the ACERT certificate attesting to knowledge of a foreign language

  1. ACERT is an Academic Certificate of Competence in a Foreign Language issued by the Department of Foreign Languages (SJO) of Wrocław University of Science and Technology and the Association of Academic Centres for Foreign Language Teaching SERMO.
  2. The ACERT certificate is a paid examination. Fees for the examination are regulated in a separate circular letter.
  3. ACERT certificate is issued on the basis of a passed examination at the levels established by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages according to standardized rules adopted by the SERMO Association. All information about the certificate examination and the ACERT certificate is available on the SJO website.
  4. The ACERT certificate contains personal data: first name, surname, PESEL, and index number (in the case of students and doctoral students), the level of foreign language proficiency, as well as the overall grade and partial percentage results obtained from particular parts of the examination.
  5. The document is drawn up in Polish and English.
  6. The certificate is signed by the chairperson of the examination commission (head of the relevant language team) and by the director of the SJO.
  7. Each certificate is given a consecutive number from the register of certificates kept by an employee designated by the Director of the SJO.
  8. The certificate is issued at SJO after 5 working days from passing the examination.
  9. Receipt of the certificate should be done in person by certifying receipt of the document in the register of certificates or by a person authorised in writing.
  10. Duplicates are issued for a fee at a price set by the Director of the College, but not higher than the cost of the certificate.
