IELTS

Course information:

  • The course prepares for IELTS ( International Language Testing System) which is held in the British Council centres in we Wrocław or at the Department of Foreign Languages of the Wrocław University of Technology.
  • Depending of exam result, WrUT students holding an IELTS certificate can be exempt from B2.2 or C1.2 language courses, PhD language exam as well as the Erasmus and Socrates language tests at the Department of Foreign Languages WrUT.
  • The course is intended for WrUT students, PhD candidates and people from outside the university.
  • In the middle of the course participants take a mock IELTS test the results of which are individually discussed with students.
  • The entry requirement is taking a placement test an receiving a CEFR level of B2 or higher.
  • The course fee is to be transferred to the following bank account.
  • The price of the course does not include the exam fee and the price of a coursebook.
  • The course will be run by teachers with many years of experience in preparing for IELTS.

WHAT IS IELTS?

The International English Language Testing System is one of the most popular international language exams. IELTS is used to assess the level of English proficiency of people who want to study or work in an English-speaking environment. IELTS is recognized by the largest international companies, institutions and renowned universities. Having an IELTS certificate at an appropriate level is necessary for emigration procedures to countries such as Australia, Canada and New Zealand.

WHEN AND WHERE IS THE EXAM HELD?

The IELTS exam is organized twice a month in examination centres in Warsaw and Kraków, and several times a year in centres in Gdańsk, Katowice, Lublin, Łódź, Olsztyn, Poznań, Szczecin and Wrocław.

WHAT IS THE EXAM STRUCTURE AND PROCEDURE?

Listening, reading, writing and speaking. The speaking part may be held 7 days before or after the written part, but it is usually carried out on the same day. There are two types of exam: General and Academic.
