Description of language education system

The Department of Foreign Languages at Wrocław University of Science and Technology organizes university-wide English language courses for doctoral students in accordance with the programme of the Doctoral School

  • for doctoral students who started their education at the Doctoral School in 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 - 90 hours of the obligatory  language course
  • for doctoral students who started their education at the Doctoral School in the academic year 2021/2022 and in subsequent years  - 60 hours of the obligatory language course

at level B2 at least. In accordance to the regulations of the Doctoral School, any doctoral student may complete an additional 30 or 60 hours of a language course.

The Department of Foreign Languages offers English language courses at two CEFR levels: B2 and C1.

A doctoral student selects the level of the course they wish to follow. To assess the level of language competence one can take an online placement test  available on DFL website. Each doctoral student enrols on a chosen language course individually during the enrolment time, via an electronic enrolment system JSOS.
